Currently, I'm working on books, and I write the funny, practical, and inspirational weekly newsletter and serve as an admin for the Beautiful Writers Group, founded by authors Linda Sivertsen and Danielle LaPorte and now run by Sivertsen and Sam Bennett. I'm a writer's writer.
For twelve and a half years, I wrote the weekly column Full Frontal for the Newport Mercury, where I often dug into what other people considered “normal” and found what was twisted about it. The absurdity of being a person juices me up. My essays and other work have appeared in The Huffington Post, Elephant Journal, and elsewhere, and I've interviewed artists and iconoclasts including Eartha Kitt, Dave Brubeck, Esperanza Spalding, Eugene Hütz, and many others.
I have a BS in Film and Television from Boston University, an MLA in English and American Literature and Language from Harvard University's Division of Continuing Education, and an MFA in Screenwriting from Boston University.
I also make music. I sing and play a Fender Rhodes and keys in Trippy Hearts. Our second album, Murmuration, came out in 2026 on my independent label My My Records (maybe the only label co-run by a ghost?) and hit #1 on Radio Boise's Top 30. I’m also in East Witch West and have a slow-moving, ongoing solo project. In 2024, my friend Gia Trotter and I released We Came to Eat: A Northwest Femme-Led Rock Comp, a vinyl-only compilation, and are dreaming and scheming the next installment.
I live in Boise, Idaho, with my husband, Brent, and our cats, where I write, make records, grow great tomatoes, make art, worry about/delight in the world. I’m an East Coast gal who moved to the high desert, where I can hear myself think.

Just hearing Tony's voice makes me want a big gabbaghoul.
The only Halloween costume I ever sewed. Being a gabba-ghoul for one night was worth the blood spilled.
